Slovenia1High caution
Increased caution

Exercise increased caution when travelling to the Northern Mariana Islands and check information from other sources, as some areas may have safety concerns. Opportunistic theft, dengue, chikungunya and HIV infection are risks, while monsoon storms can cause floods, landslides and service disruption. Be very careful when swimming because rip currents and inadequate lifeguard cover may be present, avoid animal contact, and arrange suitable travel health insurance.

Exercise normal security precautions

Exercise normal security precautions in the Northern Mariana Islands. Petty crime and theft can occur, demonstrations may turn violent, and coastal waters have powerful currents and common rip currents. Secure belongings, avoid demonstrations and unpopulated beaches after dark, and do not swim outside marked areas or after hours. Road conditions are very good on Saipan, Tinian and Rota but may be poor outside urban areas.
