Take normal precautions when travelling to Saint Helena, Ascension or Tristan da Cunha. Passports need six months of validity after arrival to Saint Helena or Ascension, but only need to cover the stay on Tristan da Cunha. Visitors need a Saint Helena entry permit, an Ascension visa, or Island Council permission for Tristan da Cunha, plus medical evacuation insurance. Long stays and work need permission, and alcohol imports are restricted.
