Argentina records highest August arrivals and extends its growth run

August 2026 recorded 110,268 arrivals, up 13.5% on a year earlier and the highest figure for that calendar month on record. The level sat at 151.0% of the same month of 2019, while the year to date against the same months a year before stood at +26.7%. August marked the 33rd month in a row above the year before. The latest month was below the peak set in February 2026 at 148,489, but ahead of June 2026's 94,373.

Recent months held well above the same months of 2019 and the three year average. July 2026 came in at 121,216 arrivals, +28.9% on a year and 169.4% of 2019. May 2026 reached 123,445 (+38.8%), April 2026 stood at 114,844 (+39.8%) and March 2026 hit 135,887 (+25.0%). Among seven regional countries, Argentina ranked first by change on a year. Costa Rica recorded -5.1% in August 2026, the Bahamas rose 1.6% in the same month, and Bolivia advanced 47.4% in July 2026.

The wider picture showed jet fuel at $3.72 a gallon in August 2026, up 84.0% on a year. Economic growth for 2026 was projected at 2.1%. Forecasts pointed to further growth in arrivals: September 2026 at +18.5% on a year, October 2026 at +12.4% and November 2026 at +5.9%. Jet fuel moved sharply higher while the arrivals series kept trending up.
