In June 2026, Colombia recorded 334,065 visitor arrivals, down 16.4% on the same month a year before and 101.4% of the level seen in June 2019. The result marks three months in a row below the prior year, with the gap widening from 8.4% in May and 6.6% in April. Year to date figures stand 2.7% lower than the same period a year earlier.
Colombia ranked 18th out of 19 countries in the region by change on a year. Peru, which shares markets including the United States, Brazil and Ecuador, fell 7.2% in June, while Costa Rica eased 0.8%. Among countries still in positive territory, the Dominican Republic rose 6.0% and Curaçao 9.5%, with Honduras up 8.6% in October 2025 and Panama up 10.3% in December 2024.
The wider backdrop shows jet fuel priced at $3.04 a gallon in June, up 45.3% on a year earlier, while economic growth for 2026 is projected at 2.2%. Forward indicators remain soft, with arrivals forecast to fall 15.3% on a year in July, 10.4% in August and 7.0% in September, suggesting the recent slowdown is set to continue.
