The total is the highest for any September on record. The year to date stands 11.6% above the equivalent period of 2025, marking nineteen months in succession of year-on-year growth.
September's 4,031,508 followed the August 2026 peak of 5,456,645, the best month on record. August ran 19.6% above its three-year average, July at 4,504,241 was 13.5% above, and June at 3,723,013 was 19.3% above. May at 4,465,084 and April at 4,217,600 sat 30.0% and 24.9% above their three-year benchmarks.
