December 2024 brought 52,046 visitor arrivals to the Cayman Islands, up 4.3% on a year earlier and at 96.0% of December 2019. The last December higher than this one was 2019. The month sat 48.0% above the average of the three preceding Decembers, alongside a year-to-date figure 12,769.3% above the same months of the prior year. Recent months moved unevenly: November fell 3.5% to 34,548, October edged up 0.7% to 20,734, August eased 1.3% to 28,118, and July dropped 13.7% to 38,396.
Against regional peers, the Cayman Islands ranked 17th out of 26 countries in the Americas by year-on-year change in December 2024. Canada recorded a 7.1% rise on a year in the same month, while the United States grew 9.3%. The Caymans' 4.3% advance therefore trailed both named rivals.
