In July 2026 Liechtenstein recorded 22,514 arrivals, up 42.2% on the same month a year earlier and 171.9% of the level seen in July 2019. The figure is the highest for that calendar month on record, and marks the sixth month in succession above the year before. It is also 42.1% above the average of the three years before.
Recent months trace a steady rise from February onwards. February 2026 brought 7,327 arrivals, up 10.3% on a year, followed by 7,362 in March (+6.1%) and 9,015 in April (+33.0%). May climbed to 13,344 (+41.1%), June to 15,939 (+37.0%), and July to 22,514 (+42.2%). Comparisons with 2019 stayed above the benchmark in every month from February onwards, with May 2026 reaching 189.5% of the 2019 level.
Liechtenstein's 42.2% rise ranked first among 37 European countries reporting in July. Rival destinations fared less well: Gibraltar fell 9.5% on a year, North Macedonia 6.1%, while Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro each rose 5.5%, Latvia 8.7%, and Kosovo 31.7%. Against this backdrop, the world jet fuel price stood at $3.40 a gallon in July 2026, up 51.6% on a year, and economic growth for 2026 is projected at 1.0%.
