MCP tools

The MCP server at https://tourismapi.com/mcp offers 32 tools. An assistant reads this list itself (the tools/list call) and picks the tool that answers the question; each call counts against your key like any other request, and your plan decides what it can read.

list_countries

Every country held, with its region, depth, latest month and measures.

country_profile

One country: what is held by measure, frequency and breakdown, and which statistics it carries.

latest_figures

A country's newest headline figure with its change on a year before.

get_measure

Monthly (or quarterly, yearly) figures of one measure for up to ten countries.

compare_countries

Two to ten countries side by side, month by month, for one measure.

rank_countries

Countries ranked by one measure in one month, with the change on a year before.

growth

Change on a year before, and year to date, for up to 25 countries.

search_series

Find series by words in their names, optionally in one country.

series_figures

Every figure of one series by its id (sr_...) or readable name (jp.arrivals.total.m).

destinations

Places inside a country (regions, NUTS 3 regions, named cities) with their nights and the country's own nights for the same period.

venues

Museums, attractions, parks and heritage sites in a country with their yearly visitor counts, largest first, each with its kind, coordinates, change on the year before and every year held.

places

The place register: countries, regions, NUTS regions, EU cities, airports and venues with their codes, parent place and Wikidata id, to join figures across datasets. Name a country, a kind, a parent code, words in the name or a Wikidata id.

weather

Daily or monthly weather (mean, high and low temperature, rain, wind, sunshine) for each region of a country, keyed by the same region codes as destinations.

prices

Monthly consumer prices of hotels, air fares and package holidays in European countries (index 2025 = 100, change on a year), beside each country's nights.

hotel_rates

Hotel average daily rate, revenue per available room and occupancy by place (provinces, tourist zones, tourist points, regions), monthly: Spain, Singapore, Thailand, Sint Maarten.

seat_capacity

Seats offered by air each month on a European country's routes: by airport pair, by partner country, or in total beside its arrivals.

air_fares

US domestic average air fares by airport, quarterly, with daily passengers; airport US for the country.

travel_advice

The travel advice governments give their citizens about a destination now, on one scale (0 normal precautions to 3 avoid all travel), with each government's own wording, the day the level was set, a plain English summary of its advice and the places it names.

travel_advice_summary

One destination's travel advice in full: a headline and a summary combining every government's advice, the places they name, how the governments split across the levels, and each government's own summary, strongest first.

travel_advice_changes

Dated changes to governments' travel advice about a destination, newest first, with categories, a one-sentence summary and the likely impact on travel.

origin_markets

A country's arrivals split by where visitors come from, largest first.

statistic

A worked statistic for one country: trend, recovery, benchmark, stay-length, forecast, nowcast, anomalies, origin-shift or concentration.

holidays

Public holidays for one or more countries in a date range.

exchange_rates

Daily rates of one currency against the euro.

population

A country's population: women and men, age groups, towns, density, growth, births, deaths, life expectancy and migration, with its latest census.

age_pyramid

A country's women and men in five-year age bands for a year (the newest when left out).

holidays_on_date

Every country with a public holiday on one day.

long_weekends

A country's long weekends in a year, and the single days off that make longer breaks.

school_holidays

School holidays by region (France by zone and academy, the Netherlands by north, middle and south), each with its first and last day off, days and school year; the next twelve months when no dates are given.

seasons

A country's busy and quiet months: an index by month where 100 is an average month.

how_counted

How a country counts its visitors (border records, accommodation registers, a survey or airport counts), how often and how late it publishes, and what changed.

release_calendar

When each country's next month of figures is expected.
