Guide
Sign in with Google and a free key is made for you at once. There is no form and no card. The key is shown once; copy it into an environment variable called TOURISM_API_KEY.
A free key reaches every free endpoint, with tourism figures up to a year ago and one year deep:
Countries: the country list, each country's profile, peers and newest figure, regions, freshness and data gaps.
Reference: every country's codes, currency and time zones (/v1/reference/countries, /v1/reference/timezones/{iso}), and what is held for every country and measure (/v1/coverage/matrix).
Population: every country's population with women and men, age groups, towns, births, deaths, life expectancy and migration (/v1/population, /v1/population/{iso}), five-year age pyramids, yearly history from 1960, and the latest census (/v1/census). Population figures are not held back a year.
Calendars: public holidays, holidays on a date (/v1/holidays/on), long weekends and the days off that make them (/v1/holidays/long-weekends/{iso}), and holidays by month (/v1/holidays/matrix).
Money: daily exchange rates and a cross-rate grid (/v1/fx/matrix), and the latest jet fuel price.
Summaries of the figures: each country's busy and quiet months (/v1/seasons), yearly totals (/v1/annual/{year}) and the direction of its latest month (/v1/direction).
The Monitor: every monthly edition and its paper, and the status, units, usage and changelog endpoints.
A free key is for building and testing: 1,000 calls a month. The latest months, the full history, breakdowns and statistics come with the paid plans on the pricing page.
