Croatia recorded 4,065,174 arrivals in July 2026, up 2.2% on a year earlier and 100.8% of the July 2019 level. The month was 0.2% above the average of the three preceding years, while the year to date stood 0.2% above the same months of 2025. Within the region, the change on a year placed Croatia 24th among 37 countries reporting this month. The last time a July figure was higher than this one was in 2023, with the best month on record remaining August 2019 at 4,363,714.
The pattern through 2026 has been uneven. February rose 7.1% on a year to 169,796 arrivals, March climbed 19.0% to 309,070 and May increased 11.2% to 1,679,960. April fell 4.6% to 912,435 and June dropped 8.9% to 2,582,894. The stronger July reading returned arrivals above the 2019 level for the month, after June had sat at 96.7% of its pre-pandemic reading.
Among European rivals in July, the year-on-year change ranged from Portugal at minus 2.1% to Czechia at plus 7.4%. Switzerland rose 1.1%, the Netherlands 6.2%, Greece 2.9% and Bosnia and Herzegovina 5.5%. The world jet fuel price reached $3.40 a gallon in July 2026, up 51.6% on a year earlier. Croatia's economy is projected to grow 2.2% in 2026.
